• Performance: The Paradigm H55-R is the "go-to" solution for high-fidelity custom installation. Part of the CI Home series, it is engineered to deliver Paradigm’s signature sound—characterized by natural mid-range and smooth highs—while disappearing completely into the ceiling. It bridges the gap between basic architectural audio and high-end home theater, providing a wide dispersion pattern that ensures a "sweet spot" throughout the entire room rather than just directly under the speaker.

Audio Features & Drivers

• PTD™ Pure-Titanium Tweeter Dome: Features a 3/4-inch (1.9cm) Ferro-fluid damped and cooled tweeter. This aerospace-grade material provides a stiff, lightweight dome that delivers crystal-clear high frequencies with significantly less distortion than typical soft-dome tweeters.
• PPA™ Tweeter Lens: (v2 models) Equipped with the exclusive Perforated Phase-Aligning Tweeter Lens. This technology acts as a phase plug, blocking out-of-phase frequencies for smoother, extended highs with incredible detail and higher output.
• Mineral-Filled Polypropylene Bass/Midrange Cone: Features a 5.5-inch (14cm) driver with oversized, computer-optimized ferrite magnets. The mineral-filled material adds stiffness to the cone, resulting in punchy, fast bass and a detailed midrange that makes movie dialogue incredibly clean.
• Wide Dispersion Engineering: Designed in partnership with Canada's National Research Council (NRC), the drivers and crossover are optimized to maintain a wide, consistent soundfield, ensuring a seamless sonic transition as you move through a multi-room audio setup.
• High-Power Motor Structure: The high-power handling voice coil and motor assembly are designed to maintain linear travel and cooling, preventing the "compression" that often occurs in small in-ceiling speakers during high-volume playback.

Streaming & Connectivity

• Easy-Access Binding Posts: Features high-quality, larger wire access holes that can accommodate heavy-gauge speaker wire, banana plugs, pins, or bare wire for a secure, low-resistance connection.
• Passive Architectural Design: As a traditional passive speaker, it requires no local power at the ceiling. It is designed to be powered by a central multi-zone amplifier or a home theater receiver.
• Gold-Plated Connectors: The binding posts are gold-plated to prevent oxidation over time, ensuring a reliable connection in humid attic or ceiling environments.
• Daisy-Chain Capability: Compatible with standard 8-ohm stability amplifiers, allowing for multiple pairs to be wired in parallel or series configurations depending on the amplifier’s capabilities.

• Bezel-Free Micro-Perf Grille: Features a magnetically attached, ultra-thin grille that eliminates the bulky plastic rim common on older in-ceiling speakers. This creates an incredibly discreet aesthetic that sits flush with the ceiling.
• Rigid ABS Chassis: Constructed from high-strength ABS to combat unwanted resonances and vibrations. This rigid frame ensures that the energy from the woofer is directed into the room rather than vibrating the ceiling drywall.

Design & Build

• Magnetically Attached Grilles: High-strength neodymium magnets hold the grilles firmly in place, making them easy to remove for cleaning or painting.
• Paintable Finish: The white, micro-perf grille is completely paintable (no masking required), allowing the speaker to match any ceiling color perfectly.
• Innovative Clamp System: Features a high-strength clamp design that simplifies installation. The clamps are designed to apply even pressure to the drywall, preventing cracks and ensuring a rattle-free fit.
• Optional Square Grille: For modern architectural designs that feature square lighting or venting, an optional square grille accessory is available to change the round aesthetic.
• Canadian Engineering: Designed and engineered at Paradigm’s state-of-the-art facility in Canada, benefiting from the same research and development as their flagship floor-standing speakers.

Paradigm speakers are warranted to be and remain free of manufacturing and/or material defects for a period of outlined below from the date of original purchase. Within the time period specified, repair, replacement or adjustment of parts for manufacturing and/or material defects will be free of charge to the original owner. Thermal or mechanical abuse/misuse is not covered under warranty.

The warranty period on Paradigm speakers is as follows:

• Bookshelf, floorstanding, in-wall & in-ceiling speakers — five (5) years
• Powered Subwoofers — three (3) years
• Outdoor Rock speakers — five (5) years
• Stylus Outdoor speakers — two (2) years
• Powered Speakers — one (1) year
• SHIFT Series products — one (1) year

Warranty begins on date of purchase from Paradigm or an Authorized Paradigm Dealer.

This warranty applies only to purchases made from authorized Paradigm dealers in Canada and the United States. For warranty terms, conditions and support elsewhere, please contact the authorized Paradigm distributor in the country where you made your purchase. Warranty outside Canada and the US is established and provided by our authorized distributors around the world.

Limitations:

• Warranty begins on date of original retail purchase from an Authorized Paradigm® Dealer only. It is not transferable;
• Warranty applies to product in normal home use only. If product is subjected to any of the conditions outlined in the next section, warranty is void;
• Warranty does not apply if the product is used in professional or commercial applications.

Warranty is Void if:

• The product has been abused (intentionally or accidentally);
• The product has been used in conjunction with unsuitable or faulty equipment;
• The product has been subjected to damaging signals, derangement in transport, mechanical damage or any abnormal conditions;
• The product (including cabinet) has been tampered with or damaged by an unauthorized service facility;
• The serial number has been removed or defaced.

Owner Responsibilities:

• Provide normal/reasonable operating care and maintenance;
• Provide or pay for transportation charges for product to service facility;
• Provide proof of purchase (your sales receipt given at time of purchase from your Authorized Paradigm® Dealer must be retained for proof-of purchase date).

Should servicing be required, contact your nearest Authorized Paradigm® Dealer, Paradigm Electronics Inc. or Import Distributor (outside the U.S. and Canada) to arrange, bring in or ship prepaid, any defective unit. Paradigm Electronics Inc. reserves the right to improve the design of any product without assuming any obligation to modify any product previously manufactured. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, of merchantability, fitness for any particular purpose and may not be extended or enlarged by anyone. In no event shall Paradigm Electronics Inc., their agents or representatives be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this exclusion may not apply to you.

Retain your sales receipt for proof of warranty term and proof of purchase.
